SAGADA, Mountain Province— A five-day workshop on professional photojournalism and documentary photography was concluded at St. Mary’s School and Olahbinan here on Sunday, November 26.

About 26 participants composed of students and young professionals from different parts of the country benefitted from the program organized by the Photojournalists’ Center of the Philippines.

The 12th Professional Photojournalism and Documentary Photography Workshop was led by senior news photographers, who demonstrated how to capture not just moments but images that illustrate stories without compromising integrity.

Among the speakers include New York Times news correspondent Felipe Villamor; Rolex dela Peña of the European Photo Agency (EPA); Jun Sepe, Deputy Editor for Multimedia of ABS-CBN; Luis Liwanag, a freelance multi-media producer; and Jimmy Domingo, a freelance photographer and instructor.

This is the second time that the training was held in the culture-rich and picturesque Cordillera Administrative Region. In 2014, the workshop was held in La Trinidad, Benguet, with a record-breaking number of more than 35 participants.

The Photojournalists’ Center of the Philippines is an organization of photojournalists working in various local and international news agencies.

The 12th workshop was conducted in partnership with the provincial Government of Mountain Province, CANON Philippines, PAGCOR, Philippine Press Institute, news.abs-cbn.com, SN Aboitiz, Picture Perfect-Manila Bulletin, YKL Color, Inc., Peace and Conflict Journalism Network, Victory Liner, and ucanews.com.
