7th PCP Professional Photography and Photojournalism Workshop

November 28- December 2, 2012

Redemptorist House, Tali Beach, Nasugbu,  Batangas

The Philippine Center For Photojournalism (PCP) Professional Photojournalism workshop is back, the only comprehensive workshop given by working photojournalists.

The five-day workshop tackles all the areas requisite in the practice of photojournalism in today's media landscape. Participants will go thru an extensive workshop in areas such as composition, best practices at work, industry trends and a hands-on field exercise to be delivered and facilitated by today's top photojournalists from different publications and agencies.Instructors include:  Alex Baluyut, freelance photographer and mentor in Masterclass in Documentary Photography (MCDP) and Asian Center for Journalism (ACFJ);  Joan Bondoc,  photojournalist from Philippine Daily Inquirer; Jimmy Domingo, freelance photographer and teacher at the Ateneo de Manila and De La Salle University; Luis Liwanag, freelance photographer and mentor in Wide Open Workshop; Fernando Sepe, photo editor of abs-cbnNEWS.com; Gigie Cruz-Sy,  freelance photographer,  Veejay Villafranca,  freelance photographer, and Rem Zamora, photojournalist from abs-cbnNEWS.com.

The workshop has produced alumni who have made a career in photojournalism. Several participants went on to study the Diploma in Photojournalism course at the Ateneo's Asian Center for Journalism. Other past participants went on to work in newspapers or NGOs. Majority of the workshop participants went back to their jobs armed with a better understanding of how photography and photojournalism can contribute to their places of work.

This year's workshop will be held from November 28 to December 2 at the Redemptorist House in Tali Beach, Nasugbu Batangas.

The workshop is sponsored by YKL-Fujifilm , Canon Philippines, Smart Communications and "MILO - Building Champions in Life."

It is being promoted thru our media partners; abs-cbnNEWS.com, the Manila Bulletin, the Philippine Daily Inquirer and DZUP.

PCP was established in 1997 by noted Filipino photojournalists working in various local and international newspapers and publications and this workshop series is one of its flagship projects to help raise the bar of photojournalism practice in the country.
