Calling Campus Journalists: Apply for the Gene Boyd Lumawag Grant to Join PCP’s 18th Workshop

The Photojournalists’ Center of the Philippines (PCP) is giving out two (2) grants for its upcoming 18th workshop to Filipino college campus journalists or photojournalists working currently with a school publication. 

Applicants must possess basic photography skills and demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a career in photojournalism. They must also own a camera, have access to photo editing and management software, and submit a portfolio of sample works. In addition, each applicant must provide proof of enrollment for AY 2026-2027, and a recommendation letter from a professor, school paper adviser, or editor of the publication or news organization with which they are affiliated.

The 18th Photojournalism Workshop will be held in Cebu City on 25 to 29 November 2026.

The PCP will give priority to applicants who are college students enrolled in schools in Visayas, which includes the provinces of Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, Samar, Negros Island, and Panay Island.

The grant entitles the chosen individual to participate fully in the workshop free of charge, inclusive of all that is due to a paying participant. However, the grantees must arrange their own round-trip travel and shoulder the necessary costs.

Arrival: Not later than 7 AM, 25 November 2026

Departure: Not earlier than 2 PM,  29 November 2026

Deadline for submissions to this grant is on 30 September 2026 at 11:59 PM.
