LEARN PHOTOJOURNALISM from the PROFESSIONALS

8th PCP Professional Photography and Photojournalism Workshop

November 6- 10, 2013

TREES Guesthouse, UP Los Baños, Laguna

The Philippine Center For Photojournalism (PCP) Professional Photojournalism workshop is back, the only comprehensive workshop given by working photojournalists.

The five-day workshop tackles all the areas requisite in the practice of photojournalism in today's media landscape. Participants will go thru an extensive workshop in areas such as composition, best practices at work, industry trends and a hands-on field exercise to be delivered and facilitated by today's top photojournalists from different publications and agencies.

Instructors and mentors include: Jes Aznar, documentary photographer, Alex Baluyut, freelance photographer and mentor in Masterclass in Documentary Photography (MCDP);  Jimmy Domingo, freelance photographer and teacher at the Ateneo de Manila and De La Salle University; Luis Liwanag, freelance photographer and mentor in Wide Open Workshop; Gil Nartea, photographer, Malacañang Photo Bureau, Raymond Panaligan, Charlie Saceda, photographer and Project Coordinator, The Peace and Conflict Journalism Network, freelance photographer, Fernando Sepe, photo editor of abs-cbnNEWS.com; Gigie Cruz-Sy,  freelance photographer,  Joe Torres, Editor of UCA News, Sonny Yabao, documentary photographer and Rem Zamora, photojournalist from abs-cbnNEWS.com.

The workshop has produced alumni who have made a career in photojournalism. Several participants went on to study the Diploma in Photojournalism course at the Ateneo's Asian Center for Journalism. Other past participants went on to work in newspapers or NGOs. Majority of the workshop participants went back to their jobs armed with a better understanding of how photography and photojournalism can contribute to their places of work.

This year's workshop will be held from November 6 to 10 at the TREES Guesthouse, UP Los Baños, Laguna.  The workshop is sponsored by Canon Philippines and is being promoted thru our media partner abs-cbnNEWS.com.

PCP was established in 1997 by noted Filipino photojournalists working in various local and international newspapers and publications and this workshop series is one of its flagship projects to help raise the bar of photojournalism practice in the country.

We are looking for passionate photographers from universities, newspapers, government agencies, private corporations and non-government organizations. Develop your story-making abilities and sharpen your skills in visual journalism!
